Where we step in

Six headaches we take off your hands.

From the money you're owed to the connection you're waiting on — pick a problem, hand it over, and consider it handled.

Claim what you're owed

Indigent support and rates rebates can quietly shave hundreds off your bill. We apply, then renew it for you every year.

Fix a wrong bill

Estimated charges, ghost arrears, an account that won't add up — we dispute it, correct it, and keep at it until the number is right.

Get connected

New water or electricity, a meter move, an extension on the property — we package the application and push it through.

Tame the e-services portal

We set up your City of Cape Town online account and stay on call, so you never lose an afternoon to a login screen again.

Report what's broken

Burst pipe, dark streetlight, uncollected bins — we log it with the right department and hound them for the fix.

Everything else

If it has a municipal stamp on it and you don't know where to start, that's exactly the moment to message us.

Why we exist

Nobody should lose a day's pay to a paperwork queue.

We opened Muni Assist on 18 May 2026 after watching too many people take time off work, stand in line for hours, and still walk away told to "come back with one more document." That's broken — so we made ourselves the people who go instead of you.

Cape Town agreed. Within weeks our story had spread across social media, our first official office is on the way, and new team members are coming on board — all so more homes and businesses can get what they're owed without the headache.

Free tools, optional help

Build it yourself for free.
Or let a caseworker handle it.

The moment you sign up you get a welcome letter, a case number, and every tool free — fill in a grant claim, a municipal complaint or a vehicle licence renewal and download it as a ready-to-submit PDF, no charge, ever. Want a real person to actually submit it and chase the City for you instead? That's the optional part:

Money in your pocket

With a caseworker, we chase down every grant and rebate you qualify for, get the paperwork airtight, and track it to approval so you stop overpaying.

Problems off your plate

Log anything that's gone wrong with the City yourself for free, or hand it to a caseworker who owns it from there — follow-ups and updates included.

Caseworker (optional)

The process

Easier than standing in a single queue.

STEP 01

Share the basics

Your ID number, a phone number, your address and an email. That's all we need to open your file — free, no card required.

STEP 02

Build your case — free

Fill in your grant claim, municipal complaint or vehicle licence renewal. A welcome letter and case number land straight away.

STEP 03

Download it, or add a caseworker

Take your ready-to-submit PDF to the municipality yourself, or add a caseworker from R40/month and we'll do it for you.

STEP 04

Sit back (if you added one)

Your caseworker works the application or the complaint and pings you with each update until it's properly closed out.

Good to know

The honest answers, before you ask.

Do I have to pay to use Muni Assist? +
No. Building a grant claim, logging a municipal problem or renewing a vehicle licence — and downloading it as a ready-to-submit PDF — is completely free, no card required. If you'd rather a real person submit it and chase the City for you, that's R40 once to add a caseworker, then R40 a month after. The only extras are the City's own application or connection fees, which we'll always flag upfront. No contract, cancel whenever.
What do I actually have to give you? +
To start: your ID number, a contact number, your address and an email. When a specific claim needs supporting documents we'll tell you exactly which ones — and we double-check the file is complete before it ever reaches the municipality, so you're not sent back for a missing page.
Can you guarantee I'll qualify? +
No one can — the City and the grant rules decide who qualifies, not us. What we guarantee is a clean, complete, correctly-argued application the first time, so you get the fairest possible shot without the endless back-and-forth.
Is it above board to have you act for me? +
Completely. We're a help service acting on your authority: with your go-ahead we take your information and documents and submit them to the municipality for you. Nothing is ever lodged without your say-so.
What if I want out? +
You cancel it yourself, the moment you choose. Membership runs month to month — no notice period, no penalty, no awkward retention call.
How will I know what's happening with my case? +
Every claim or complaint gets its own reference number, and we send you progress updates as it moves through the system — so you're never left guessing where things stand.

Hand us the headache.

One message is all it takes. Tell us what the City is putting you through and we'll take it from there — today.
